Training:

When we start and re-start horses we first establish trust, respect, & understanding on the ground, while also providing the horse with cues that will later translate to cues we will use under saddle. We generally start all horses out in a rope halter and finish them in a full cheek snaffle bit. Once we're in the saddle we work on gaining forward movement, flexion then emergency stops, & hip control. Followed by directional control & transitional control. For problem solving we find holes in the horses' training and find ways to fill them in, both on the ground & in the saddle.
Conditioning and Fine tuning: Working first on softness in not only the mouth but through out the whole body of the horse, then making sure we have great directional and transitional control, next focusing on body, leg & rein cues, making sure we can move each part of the horses body seperately, where we want it, when we want , how much, and how fast. We will make sure your horse is fit enough to move forward in his training to start working on collection. Whether you're looking to do trail riding, barrel racing, dressage, jumping, or any other discipline, it is important to have a solid foundation on your horse.
Monthly training includes: Ground work (leading, tying, standing for bath, fly spray, hose, grooming, farrier, vet), starting your horse under saddle, problem solving, trailer loading, and fine tuning. Water, hay, 5-6 training sessions/weekly, 2 horsemanship lessons for owner/rider before horse leaves the
farm.

Training is $500 per 30 days.

Board is $150/month.

Lessons:

Lessons can include ground work and/or riding.

For lessons our normal rate is $20 per hour.

If traveling to your stable/home its our normal rate in addition to travel expenses. If another student is in the same area and has a lesson on the same day we will split the cost of the travel fee so its more cost affective. Contact us for more details or if you have questions.

Exercising:

Can't go see your horse as much as you like, but still want them to be looked after on a daily basis? Our services offered include daily turn-out/walk/play as well as feeding what ever suppliments or extra hay you offer your horse. This is not a training type of package so days, times and prices are negotiable depending on your individual needs.

Additional training information:

Horses will be worked within reason of their physical and mental maturity and abilities only.

It is very common for many folks to expect their horses to make them a star after they have returned home from any training situation, when in truth the work has just begun and you the owner must continue to help and support your horse, it is you that can make them that star or not. We get you and your horse started in the right direction and it must be understood is takes many years to finish a horses in their complete education and anything else is unrealistic.

It is up to the owner to bring their own skills up to what a horse needs not that the horse will teach them to be  good equestrians once they return home. The horses still need you to direct and support them to stay on track to maintain their education and to advance their education, or they will go backwards in what they have learned to accommodate an owner and/or riders skill level.

A message from your trainer:

"Training cannot be rushed. When you rush the training process, it creates holes in the horses foundation. You need a firm foundation to achieve the best ridding experience. I believe a gentle slow approach is the way to go when training a horse. When you take your time, the horse absorbs more and the training is more established. Not all horses learn at the same speed.

Another point, less is more. When starting a young horse, introduce one thing at a time. If you introduce to many things at one time, their mind can become jumbled. They can get nervous and very anxious. Again, this can create holes.

Ground work is key in the training process. It creates the first steps in establishing a bond and a life-long relationship, between human and equine. Its creates respect. You don’t want a horse that is walking all over you. You will get no where but in trouble if that is the case. Respect must be established. With respect comes trust. Once you have a trust, you become a partnership. I strive to gain a partnership where my horse knows what I am thinking without the aid of ropes or equipment. Where my horse can walk up to a trailer and jump in without hesitation or trying to put up a fight. Where we can ride bridleless using undetectable body language. Anyone can achieve this as well as long as the have the time, patience and mind set for a life long journey with your horse."
